What happens if you die without a Will?

An out of date Will can be as bad as no Will at all and cause unnecessary heartache and expense for your family. If you die without a valid Will the law will decide who gets what.  

A properly drafted Will can instruct the following;  

• Distribute the estate assets
• Create testamentary trusts for children
• Control the succession for companies, family trusts and/or unit trusts  

The cost to establish a Will is not that expensive when compared to the costs of fixing up the problems caused by ‘homemade’ Wills or having no Will at all.
 
Wills need to be reviewed as part of the overall estate planning process to ensure that it has kept pace with other changes that inevitably will occur in most of our lives.
